Purpose of processing, legal basis and types of personal data

TS Laevad OÜ (hereinafter referred to as TSL) collects and processes personal data for the purposes of selling ferry tickets, providing ferry services (hereinafter referred to as Service), performance of contracts, improving the service and service quality, and resolving customer issues. The processing is based on the Port Act, the passenger transport agreement signed between the Republic of Estonia and TSL, and the customer’s order (ticket purchase).

We are committed to the protection of personal data and take security measures to protect personal data from unintentional and unauthorized processing, disclosure or destruction. Your personal data are accessible to the employees of TSL on a need-to-know basis for the performance of their duties.

TSL does not make automated decisions, profile analysis or use personal data for statistical analyses.

Ticket purchase and use of

When you are purchasing ferry tickets or using the application, we process the following personal data:

Cameras in the port area and onboard ferries

In the port area and onboard ferries, we use surveillance equipment to organize the boarding and disembarking of passengers, to detect a threat or attack to a person or property, to ensure security and to resolve any incidents. We use the surveillance equipment under the provisions of the Port Act and the Security Act, during which we collect and process the following personal data:

Customer service and incident resolution

We process personal data to respond to appeals related to service provision, and to resolve any incidents, as well as to improve service quality. We process the following data:

We record customer inquiries received over the phone to evaluate customer experience and service quality.

Notifications and feedback surveys

In case of exceptional circumstances (changes in the travel schedule, longer waiting time, etc.) we send a respective SMS message to persons who have purchased a ticket.

From time to time, we may ask the persons who have purchased a ticket for their opinion about our service (e-mail from the address [email protected] ). If a person does not wish to participate in a survey, there is an option to opt out of them via the link in the feedback email (Remove email from list).

Social media

We publish articles and photos about TSL’s activities in social media and at to support the company’s image and rating. We publish personal data only with the consent of the person. Possible personal data that we use:

Consent can be withdrawn at any time by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. In such a case, we will remove the personal data immediately.

Applying for a job

We only use the data that you provide us when applying for a job in the recruitment process. If necessary, we will contact the references indicated in the CV and assume that they have given their consent. We may also collect additional information about the applicant from public sources.

The right to receive information and access your data

A person has the right to receive information from TSL on the basis of a corresponding request as to whether TSL processes their personal data, and to access the data that is being processed about them.

The right to request correction, deletion, restriction of processing of personal data and to object

If a person finds that the data collected about them is incorrect or incomplete, they should submit a request to correct the data.

A person has the right to demand the restriction, termination and deletion of the processing of their personal data if the legal basis for processing the data has ceased to exist. A person also has the right to object to the processing of their personal data.

Requests concerning personal data, including requests for access, correction and deletion of personal data, can be forwarded in (digitally) signed form to the e-mail address [email protected]. We respond to your requests without undue delay, but no later than within one month.
